Yes this was a monumental moment as Avery had here first trip to the San Diego Zoo. We were sad that Mommy could not make it. She was at a training in San Diego on Saturday and Sunday to become a Stroller Strides instructor. She is going to be teaching an exercise class in our neighborhood and was taking classes to become certified.
We decided to make it an overnight vacation as we all stayed in San Diego friday night and then Avery and I ventured to the zoo. For those of you who have not had the privilege of visiting the San Diego Zoo this a must stop for all you zoo lovers. It has been a great bonus to be so close and visit this beautiful zoo. In addition to the zoo being huge…it is also very hilly. I knew is was going to be an interesting day when we got there and I attempted to load Avery (and all the neccessary Avery accessories) in the stroller. She wanted no part of the stroller as she stated “Avery walk”. So she walked and as we began to walk around the zoo her little steps were not getting us very far. To maximize our time I put her in the stoller and we checked out all the animals. She loved it…we had a blast. The only hiccups were the fact that she wanted to walk all the time but she was so tired that she would just sit down in the middle of road. It was a long day and a difficult one at times but we had fun…i could have used backup…next time Mommy can be my wingman.
